Fees and Conditions
I charge as follows:
- Officiating at a wedding outside Westborough $125
- Officiating at a wedding within Westborough $75
- Pre-nuptual Conference (my office) & ceremony preparation* $95
- Attending a rehearsal (strongly suggested) $125
- General rate $75/hour
- Certified, Return Receipt of license to town clerk (location dependent) $6
Please note:
- I do not charge for travel but do charge for tolls and parking when applicable.
- I normally wear a black judicial robe but will dress as requested at requester’s expense. I do charge my general rate for time associated with clothing fittings (tuxedo, costume, etc.).
- I require a 50% deposit as an initial retainer to book a date, any unused portion of the deposit is refundable 31 days or more before the wedding;
- I require that a simple fee agreement be signed.
- I require any unpaid balance seven (7) days prior to the wedding.
- I require the marriage license before the wedding, preferably with the unpaid balance. I often receive the license right after the couple obtains it.
- In general, my fees include:
- A pre-nuptual conference to discuss the wedding and offer ideas (telephone or email may suffice)
- The preparation, review and editing of the ceremony (custom ceremony is optional)
- A rehearsal (optional)
- Miscellaneous charges (fittings, tolls, parking, travel, special requests, etc.)
- Officiating at the wedding
- Delivering the marriage license to the town/city clerk
* In lieu of an office meeting the ceremony preparation may be completed via email, FAX, USPS, etc.
